Ellana Wool Thread

Engineered with hand wool applique in mind, Ellana is a 12wt, 2ply 50/50 merino wool/acrylic blend. The wool provides a rich color palette and soft loft while the acrylic gives the thread strength. Its perfect twist allows the thread to gently slide around the edge of wool applique, resulting in an almost invisible whip stitch. This smooth, clean edge is perfectly prepared for embellishing. Ellana is fray resistant and contains significantly less fuzz than other wool threads, rendering an unparalleled smoothness ideal for creating delicate detail when used for hand embroidery.
