What are quilt notions?

Quilting notions are the tools and supplies you use to create a quilt. These can include rotary cutters, rulers, mats, pins, marking tools, marking pens and other basic sewing items.

What materials do I need to get started with quilting?

To get started with quilting, you will need fabric, a rotary cutter, a cutting mat, quilting rulers, quilting pins, a sewing machine, and thread.

What needles do I use with MonoPoly thread?

We use a Schmetz Topstitch needle or a Schmetz Metallic needle. We also increase our stitch length and reduce the upper thread tension on our machines. We typically use an 80/12 when we use MonoPoly thread, but some people recommend using a 70 needle. Be sure to remember to NOT use the monopoly in the bobbin—only in the top of your machine!
